No Wall Classrooms
At CGA, we offer a range of outdoor education programs where students learn beyond the confines of the traditional classroom, which encourages students to apply their learning in a hands-on, minds-on manner, and helps our students develop self-confidence, collaboration, resilience, leadership skills, reflective and critical-thinking skills and responsibility while fostering a greater appreciation for nature and the environment.
We help students develop a respect for the environment and build skill sets that will encourage a lifetime of discovery in the outdoors.

Why outdoor learning?

Whether inside or outside our campus, we strive to nurture our students’ curiosity and help them feel at home in the outdoors.
We introduce students to a range of activities and environments while challenging them to make meaningful connections to the classroom and to their lives, for example, students learn about insects and animal adaptations in the park, and about the hydrologic cycle near the lake, etc.

Developing student’s character

While many of our activities function as important extensions of the classroom, others focus on developing individual skills for the students.
As students take more and more responsibility for their own well-being, they become comfortable acting independently. In the outdoors, new environments, new equipment, and new issues will encourage them to become critical thinkers and work collaboratively as they solve problems or resolve conflicts together.

Networking School Community

Our outdoor program fosters a unique sense of school community between students, teachers, and parents who learn to trust, challenge, and support each other on trips.
